The route consists of a tourist corridor with stations in the main population centers including the Cancún international airport. The construction is considered in two stages: the first from Cancun-Playa del Carmen and the second from Playa del Carmen-Tulum. The rail will contribute to the regional development of the northern zone, considerably improve urban and tourist mobility, integrate labor markets and generate an alternative for the distribution of inputs for the economic activity of the Riviera Maya.
