Argentina gets 32 offers for its US$6bn highway PPPs

Argentina's transport ministry received 32 offers for the first six contracts to be tendered under its US$30bn PPP program. The program entails works on 3,000km of roads and investments of US$6bn over the next four years, according to a transport ministry press release.

"In just a few months works that have been pending for 30 years will start. Thanks to these highways and safe routes, within four years we will have more road safety, leaving death roads behind, lower logistics costs for national production, and will reduce times to connect people and places, fomenting tourism and development," transport minister Guillermo Dietrich said.

These offers will now undergo technical evaluation, while the economic component of the bids will be unveiled in the second week of May. Awarding of the contracts is scheduled for June 12.
