Colombia postpones bidding schedule for Pacific LNG auditor

Colombia's energy ministry planning unit UPME has postponed key deadlines for the selection of an auditor for the long-awaited Pacific LNG import project

Interested parties will now have until March 15 to present economic and technical proposals, having previously been set a November 4 cut-off.

The successful bidder is scheduled to be announced on April 11, more than four months later than originally planned.

UPME said the bidding timetable for the investor selection process remained unchanged.

Earmarked for the Pacific port of Buenaventura, the project comprises a 200,000m3 capacity LNG storage and regasification facility and a 120km pipeline to transport up to 400Mf3/d (million cubic feet per day) to Yumbo, on the northern outskirts of Cali.

Investment is expected to range from US$650mn to US$1bn, according to UPME.
