Enami seeks to sell or lease copper mine in northern Chile
Chilean state minerals company Enami launched a public tender for the purchase or lease of the Esperanza underground copper mine in Sierra Áspera, Atacama region.
Applications may be submitted through June 18.
Esperanza's extraction rate is 15,000t per month, mainly copper oxides. The mine is 20km from Enami's El Salado processing plant.
Under the business models proposed by the company last year, the purchase includes the property and the surface and underground operations, while the lease involves mine development, extraction and mineral transport to the Enami plant.
Aspects to be evaluated include the bidder's experience, technical competence, a work program and a mining plan.
