Minas Gerais plans infrastructure PPPs

The Minas Gerais state government in Brazil is planning public-private partnerships (PPP) for logistics transportation and social infrastructure initiatives.

The state's economic development department finalized a public consultancy phase on Monday aimed at addressing last-minute questions before submitting technical, economic and financial feasibility studies for its 2016-17 PPP plan, according to a local government release.

Among the planned PPPs are the construction, operation and maintenance of state highways, educational facilities and police stations.

The state is also planning concessions to build, renovate and operate state hospitals, as well as building, operating and maintaining the Vale do Aço regional airport, currently known as the Usiminas airport.
