Brazil's waterways regulator Antaq signed an adhesion contract with local port terminal operator SuperTerminais Comércio e Indústria for operations in Amazonas state capital Manaus, a federal government release said.
The 25-year contract involves handling general cargo and containers at a 115,404m2 wharf at Manaus port. The concession is extendible as long as necessary upgrade works are carried out, the release said, without stipulating investment amounts.
SuperTerminais has been operating its mixed-use private terminal near the industrial city of Manaus since 1996.
SuperTerminais works closely with container transport company SuperTrans.
