Bahia expanding sanitation services in Simões Filho

Northeast Brazil's Bahia state announced an investment of 31.5mn reais (US$8.76mn) to expand sanitation services in Simões Filho.

The work involves installing more than 59km of sewage collection pipelines and the construction of a sewage treatment plant, among other things.

Governor Rui Costa said in a statement that along with other investments already announced the state will invest a total of 43mn reais to expand the sanitation network in the city. Simões Filho has a population of 132,906.

State-controlled water company Embasa will carry out the works.
