Six bids opened for Argentina's Ita Ibaté port
Government authorities in Argentina's Corrientes province have opened six bids to develop the Ita Ibaté port project, the coordination and planning ministry stated in a release.
The initiative has an official budget of 331mn pesos (US$21.2mn), according to the release.
Provincial authorities expect the new port, the first in 21 years to be built from scratch and financed by the state, will receive 60 ships per year, which would allow increased exports of rice and timber, as well as other products.
The companies that submitted bids in the tender process were Constructora Perfomar, Dragados y Obras Portuarias, Rovella Carranza, Pentamar, Concret Nor, and a consortium formed by Ute Ecas and JCR.
The lowest bid made in this phase of the tender was for 266mn pesos.
