US$200mn Peru wind project receives easement nod
Peru's energy and mines ministry has recognized a conventional easement of occupation for a planned US$200mn wind farm in the northern region of Lambayeque.
The land rights are for the definitive concession held by power generator Orygen Perú for the 224MW Mórrope plant.
According to the ministry, a concession holder that has agreements with landowners for the use of their properties must obtain recognition of the conventional easement from the relevant regional government to continue its activity.
The easement allows one property to use another to support electricity generation, transmission and distribution. It helps prevent future disputes and social conflicts, and the recognition remains valid indefinitely.

Orygen is one of Peru's top generators, along with Kallpa Generación, Engie and Electroperú.
The Grupo Romero-controlled electricity producer invested 56mn soles (US$16mn) in 1Q26 and expects to bring online the 94MW Wayra Solar park at year-end.
