Description:
Peruvian national road authority Provías Nacional, which operates under the country's Ministry of Transport and Communications, was created in 2002 to assume the responsibilities of the government's transport overhaul program (PRT), the transport infrastructure overhaul project (PERT) and the former national highway maintenance system (Sinmac). It has technical, administrative and financial autonomy and is responsible for executing construction, improvement, rehabilitation and maintenance projects for the national road network. Its headquarters are located in Lima.
