Construction of US$950mn Belo Horizonte beltway to start in 2024
Brazil’s Minas Gerais state will start construction of the 5.07bn-real (US$947mn), 70km Belo Horizonte beltway in 2024.
Italian firm INC won the 30-year construction, operation and maintenance PPP contract in August.
Minas Gerais will contribute 3.07bn reais to the state’s biggest PPP in history.
“From now on, our attention is focused especially on the environmental licensing process, on maintaining dialog with traditional communities and on resolving land regularization issues that we have already discussed with some neighborhoods that will be affected by the route,” infrastructure and mobility secretary Fernando Marcato said in a press release.
