The public works and services committee of Paraguay's lower house has met with a delegation headed by deputy transport minister Luis Pereira to discuss reactivating the country's rail network. The two entities discussed acquiring new rail cars and repairing the obsolete Carlos Antonio López railway, the congressional website reported. The EBY joint venture that administers the Yacyretá hydro dam on the Argentine-Paraguayan border is expected to purchase new rail cars, while the committee has committed to ensuring that feasibility studies are carried out.
