Description: Champiñones Abrantes SA is a company that grows and markets White Mushrooms, supplying the national market. This company was born in 1983 in order to grow mushrooms of the best quality and market their production. Nowadays, and due to the high demand of this product, Mushrooms Abrantes has seen the need to increase its cultivation capacity and, consequently, increase the production of 85 tons per week (approved by RCA No. 456/2015) to 170 tons per week of White Mushroom. That is why Champiñones Abrantes wishes, through this report, to make known the characteristics of the project that includes the expansion of the Cultivation Plant and thus increase, double, its production capacity. Also, it is noted that it is not necessary to expand the Substrate Plant, since with the productive capacity described and approved in the RCA No. 456/2015, it is sufficient to supply the current and future Cultivation Plant. Currently, the production system of Champiñones Abrantes does not consider the disposal of liquid waste and, therefore, in strict rigor, does not generate RILes. In effect, the water generated in the crop plant is reused by the substrate plant in a model where the consumption of water equals the generation of the same. The increase in production associated with the construction of a new cultivation plant, requested by means of this Environmental Impact Statement, will result in the generation of RILs that will be duly treated prior to their disposal. The model of reuse of water from crop plants, by the substrate plant, will remain in force, however, all those waters that exceed the current balance, will be constituted in RILs that will be treated by means of a treatment plant , to reincorporate them to the soil by infiltration drains, which will comply with the applicable regulations, in accordance with the provisions of DS No. 46/2002 and Exempt Resolution No. 0154 of the Superintendency of the Environment. The increase of the production that derives from the construction of the new plant, will bring with it an increase in the staffing, which will imply having the corresponding sewage treatment plant. The construction and operation of the new Cultivation Plant together with the incorporation of the associated wastewater and wastewater treatment systems, will bring, mainly, the following modifications: Increase in the production capacity of mushrooms. Increase in storage and packaging capacity. Implementation of a RILes treatment plant that allows to treat the waters that exceed the water balance of the productive processes, and then dispose of them through infiltration drains. Implementation of a sewage treatment plant for 225 people. Increase of the installed power to operate the new cultivation plant, from 750 KVA to 1,500 KVA, increasing, in turn, backup equipment for emergencies, which will add 2 generators of 410 KVA each (820 KVA), to the existing 730 KVA. Although this DIA does not consider changes in the substrate plant, which, as previously mentioned, has enough production capacity to supply both the current and planned crop plant, it will require an increase in energy capacity of 1500 KVA. installed capacity, compared to the 750 KVA currently approved. It is pointed out that the current cultivation plant will remain operative while the second Cultivation Plant is being built to subsequently operate jointly. All modifications and constructions will be made to the interior of the current site, whose roles associated with the Substrate and Cultivation Plant are SII 1562-23 and SII 1562-21 respectively. Objective The objective of the project is to increase the production capacity of Champiñón Blanco from 85 to 170 tons per week, through the construction of a new mushroom cultivation plant.
