Description: Brief Description of the Project The project consists of the construction and operation of the collection, treatment and final disposal system for treated wastewater from the town of Lican Ray. In detail, it is considered the construction and habilitation of a trunk collector, two sewage elevating plants (PEAS) that will allow the discharge of sewage to a sewage treatment plant (PTAS) based on sludge activated with Reactors technology Sequential Batch (SBR), whose treated effluent will be discharged to the Melilahuén estuary approximately 2500 m before the mouth of this to Calafquén lake through a buried and submerged discharge at the bottom of the bed which will extend from the shore of the PTAS to the estuary. The sewerage network considers the construction of a main or trunk collector, which has been called: Cacique Puñulef. The collector, Cacique Puñulef has a length of 1,350 meters and begins at the intersection of the streets Hugolino Lillo corner Cacique Coliñanco, extends along the streets; Cacique Coliñanco, and Cacique Puñulef Avenue. The contributions of this collector are made to Elevator Plant No. 1. Figure 2.1. Sewage Collection Network Scheme (Yellow Cacique Puñulef Collector. The image also shows the flow path from PEAS 1 to PEAS 2 by Cacique Carimán Street) Source: Own elaboration from google Earth image The Collection and Treatment System project Sewage from the locality of Lican Ray, includes the installation of two Sewage Lifting Plants (PEAS), which will be buried and have an odor treatment system, through the implementation of activated carbon filters. In addition, they will have a gate chamber and a basket, which will serve to retain materials outside the nature of the sewage, such as remains of wood, diapers, among others. These works do not include storm spillway discharges to nearby watercourses. The first PEAS or PEAS 1 will be located at the intersection of Cacique Carimán and Cacique Puñulef streets. It will receive the wastewater from the western sector of Lican Ray and will be destined to raise the wastewater to the sector where the second PEAS will be located. The second PEAS will be located on Cacique Carimán Street at the intersection with Hugolino Lillo Street. This will receive the sewage from the Cacique Carimán collector and the PEAS contribution described above, therefore, it will be destined to raise all the sewage collected from the locality to the sewage treatment plant. The supply pipeline will be developed from the second PEAS and will continue along Cacique Carimán street until the route to Coñaripe, later extending along the fiscal strip of said route to the access road Llantén to the site where the wastewater treatment plant is projected. The sewage plant (PTAS) will be located outside the urban limit, according to information from the current Regulatory Plan for the town of Lican Ray. The land has a total area of 2.91 hectares and the infrastructure of the PTAS, dependencies and internal roads will occupy an area of approximately 1.15 hectares. The plant to be built will be of activated sludge type, specifically the technology of Sequential Batch Reactors or SBR whose effluent will come out with an optimum quality that will allow compliance with the provisions of Supreme Decree 90/2000 of the MINSEGPRES “Establishes Emission Standard for Regulation of Contaminants Associated to Discharges of Liquid Waste to Marine and Continental Surface Waters ”, specifically to Table 3 of said decree that indicates“ Maximum Allowable Limits for the Discharge of Liquid Waste to Lacustrine Water Bodies ”.
