Colombia infrastructure watch

Colombia's national infrastructure agency ANI signed an inter-administrative technical support agreement with national finance agency Findeter to manage, maintain and operate the Bogotá-Belencito rail corridor for the next two years.
The planned investment in the corridor, which cover some 308km of lines including the Bogotá-Facatativá and La Caro-Zipaquirá stretches, exceeds 125bn pesos (US$26mn).
The corridor, which is an important route connecting Boyacá and Cundinamarca departments with the interior of the country, began operating in 2018.
So far in 2022, it has moved more than 363,000 passengers and some 31,000t of products such as cement and steel.

ANI has approved the pre-feasibility study for the El Dorado Max private sector proposal presented by Odinsa, a concession company of Grupo Argos to expand and upgrade El Dorado airport in Bogotá, an initiative that will cost around 7tn pesos.
The project is intended to increase the annual passenger-handling capacity of the airport by 20mn passengers to a total of 60mn.
The works include expanding the current terminal, providing 36 new spaces to park aircraft allowing direct passenger boarding, 1,690 additional parking spaces for vehicles and building a second terminal with capacity for 10mn passengers.
There are also expected to be improvements to road accesses to the airport, with works on Calle 26, the extension of Avenida Mutis to the intersection with the Funza-Cota road, and the expansion and construction of a new Transmilenio portal, with the creation of an airport modal exchange center (CIMA).
The next step is the development of feasibility studies and designs for the project.
The contract to carry out the initiative is expected to be awarded by the end of 2025.
