Description:
Alstom-CPVM, a consortium made up of French engineering firm Alstom S.A. and Constructora de Proyectos Viales de México S.A. de C.V. (CPVM), a subsidiary of Spain's OHL. In 2014 it won a contract for the construction of the first stretch of the railway connecting Toluca and Mexico City; and it was awarded the contract to develop the second stretch of line No.3 of the Guadalajara city light rail system. The 7.45km stretch will link the city of Guadalajara with the cities of Zapopan and Tlaquepaque, in an elevated section comprising six stations. Alstom will provide 18 trainsets, the communication systems, high-voltage substations, and the traffic control systems. The line will be completed and operational by mid-2018, and is expected to double the capacity of the Guadalajara system to around 233,000 passengers per day.
