Voltalia Energia do Brasil Ltda. (Voltalia do Brasil) was established in 2006 by French renewable energy developer Voltalia to act as the group's country subholding company for its Brazilian assets. The company owns 99% of Oiapoque Energia SA, a company that develops a renewable energy generation complex in the city of Oiapoque. The complex includes a 12MW thermal unit (which came into operation in 2015), a 4MW solar unit (operational since 2017) and the 7.5MW Salto Cafesoca hydroelectric plant, with start-up planned for 2021. Voltalia do Brasil also owns minority stakes in the Sao João, Carnaúbas, Santo Cristo and Reduto wind farms, among several other projects. Its corporate offices are located in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
