Founded in 1984, Suelopetrol is a Venezuelan firm that offers services to the oil industry, including seismic data acquisition, data processing and interpretation, oilfield operations, drilling and well rehabilitation, among others. The company operates in Venezuela, Colombia and the US. In 2010, Suelopetrol, Corporación Venezolana del Petróleo and a consortium formed by US firm Chevron with Japan's Inpex and Mitsubishi created Petroindependencia, a mixed company to conduct exploration and production in Venezuela's Carabobo 3 oilfield. In Venezuela, Suelopetrol also has an interest in Petrocabimas, which holds rights over blocks Tía Juana, Cabimas Tradicional, Cabimas Este, Cabimas Este 2 and Cabimas Sur. In Colombia, it operates the LLA-61 block while in the US it holds a stake in the Hardin field.
