Gás de Alagoas S.A. (Algás) is a natural gas trading company, which operates in the Brazilian state of Alagoas. The company supplies gas to the industrial, automobile (vehicular natural gas), residential, commercial, generation and cogeneration sectors. It is owned by the state government of Alagoas (51%), with Gaspetro (a gas subsidiary of Petrobras) and Mitsui Gás e Energia do Brasil with equal 24.5% stakes. The company operates a distribution network spanning 400km to serve 40,000 residential consumers. Alagás was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Maceió city.
