Consorcio Total E&P México - Pemex Exploración y Producción (Consorcio Total - Pemex) is a hydrocarbon exploration and production society created in 2018 in the City of Mexico by the said branches of the French oil company Total S.A. and of the local company Petróleos Mexicanos S.A. de C.V. which identifies, evaluates and develops oil and gas projects in México. In the Southeastern basins (Salina basin) of the Gulf of Mexico, Consorcio Total - Pemex owns and explores the Area 32 (1,027 km2) to extract heavy oil and dry gas, and the Area 33 (581 km2) to extract super light oil.
