Telefônica Brasil S.A. is a publicly-traded Brazilian telecommunications company providing fixed and mobile voice, fixed and mobile broadband, ultra-broadband, data and digital services, as well as pay TV and IT services across the entire Brazilian territory. The company has over 95 million customers: 22 million in fixed telephony and 73 million in mobile telephony, which is marketed in the country under the Vivo brand. In addition, Telefônica Brasil serves 1.6mn Pay TV customers. The company provides a 3G network for over 4,417 municipalities and 4G LTE for 3,100 municipalities, as well as 4G+ LTE in 1,000 cities through carrier aggregation. The São Paulo-based company operates as a subsidiary of Spanish broadband and telecom provider Telefónica S.A. and was incorporated after the restructuring and privatization of Telecomunicações Brasileiras S.A., thus entering the Brazilian market, in 1998.
