Peru’s energy and mines ministry has granted Empresa de Generación Eléctrica del Sur (Egesur) a definitive concession to develop the 15.3MW Moquegua 1 hydro plant.
The ministry’s power director is now authorized to sign the concession contract with the company for the project which is planned for the districts of Torata and Moquegua, Moquegua region.
In December, the ministry’s Moquegua office approved the project’s semi-detailed environmental impact study.

Hydro generator Atria Energía raised US$4mn from the second issue of a first corporate bond program for up to US$20mn; the first placement raised US$6mn in December.
Demand reached US$5.66mn, the company said in a filing with local securities regulator SMV.

And on the hydrocarbons front, state oil company Petroperú issued a call for bids to support the management system of the engineering processes for the new Talara refinery. Procurement information for the 15-month contract is available here.
