Paris-based Solairedirect S.A. produces, maintains and installs photovoltaic systems and solar panels, and develops and operates solar parks, taking minority equity stakes in the projects. It also consults on solar power generation improvement methods, and security and monitoring of installed solar panels. Founded in 2006, the company has just under 500MW of solar energy in operation or under construction – roughly equivalent at half a nuclear plant – and mostly in France. It has another 4,500MW of projects in India, Chile and other countries. The firm hopes to build 2,000MW of solar power installations in India by 2019. In 2105, French utility Engie, formerly GDF Suez, acquired a 95% stake in Solairedirect.
