Centrales Eléctricas del Cauca S.A. (Cedelca) is a Colombian power company responsible for the generation, distribution and sale of electricity in south-west Colombia's Cauca department. The firm owns eight small hydropower plants all located in Cauca. In 2008, Cedelca signed a contract with UTEN (national energy industry workers' union), now UTEN-Vatia, for the latter to operate and maintain these plants. In 2010, Cedelca signed an agreement with Compañía Energética del Occidente providing the latter with a 25-year contract for the operational, technical and commercial administration of power distribution and commercialization as well as investment and coverage expansion, and infrastructure maintenance and repair. The firm, founded in 1955, is based in Popayán, Cauca department and is controlled by Colombia's Ministry of Mines and Energy.
