Serviço Autônomo de Saneamento de Pelotas (Sanep) is a Brazilian statutory corporation owned by the municipal government of Pelotas and in charge of collection, treatment and distribution of drinking water, as well as collection and disposal of solid waste, and collection and treatment of wastewater, drainage water and stormwater. Sanep operates four water treatment stations (Santa Bárbara, Sinnott, Moreira, Quilombo), three of them connected to a water distribution network, with the fourth used for rural zones. The company was founded in 1965 as the Serviço Autônomo de Água e Esgotos (SAAE), and adopted its current name in 1984.
