Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT), a subsidiary of Carrix Inc., is engaged in the development of port activities in Panama. The facility currently offers over 1,600m of container berth, and is equipped with gantry cranes, top-picks, side-picks, tractors, tow trucks and cargo elevators. The company was created in 1995 with Panamanian and US private capital. It is located near the Atlantic Ocean's Panama Canal opening, immediately adjacent to the Colón Free Trade Zone (CFZ). The terminal's total area is 520,000m2, with a container storage capacity of 37,000 TEUs and a container repair yard with 15,000m2, including 1300m2 undercover repair facility.
